Smash Bros. Added to Lineup!

Vlow Gaming Café is happy to announce that it will be adding Smash Bros. to the lineup of competitive events held at our establishment. We understand that Smash Bros. has always been a part of the FGC (fighting game community) and we would like to include it in our future competitive events for all our local, and away players. Understanding that Vlow gaming café is not a major tournament place holder like Evolution, we will try to ensure that we follow all tournament rules Evolution adheres to. The decision to add Smash Bros. to our game nights, and weekly tournaments comes at the request of all our local Smash Bros. FGC not having a location to host practices or tournaments. For the last three years Smash Bros. was taken off the list of competitive gaming at Evolution. Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Endeavor esports venture are co-owners of Evolution since 2021. Smash Bros. is a Nintendo owned product, and because of this, it politely asked Sony to not host their game at Evolution due to property rights. This doesn’t mean that Evolution will never host Smash Bros. at their venue, it just means Sony and Nintendo must come to an agreement that will be fair for all gamers involved at Evolution. To those asking the question if holding a Smash Bros. weekly and monthly tournament is legal, we answer yes because we are not breaking any licensing laws from Nintendo. Our events are held at our expense, and prizes are not monetary. We are not part of the Smash World Tour, which is licensed through Nintendo. We are excited to hold our first Smash Bros. tournament, and we hope our customers at Vlow gaming café share this excitement. We will continue to monitor our viewership, and continue to improve ourselves so everyone can have the best experience possible here at Vlow Gaming Café.
