The Vlow Gaming Café is committed to providing a safe place for gamers to come together and play all the latest and greatest games. That includes those games, such as Sniper Elite 5, Death by Daylight, and Call of Duty, all of which are designed to purposely generate scenarios where players are tasked with stabbing, shooting, and killing their opponents. This has led to questions surrounding the ethical implications of sponsoring events or running a business that encourages and even rewards participants for their ability to dominate a game and eliminate their opponents in what are becoming increasingly realistic scenarios. Despite the ongoing research that continues to refute any claim that there is any link between violence and video games, the belief continues to permeate in our society that what you do in a video game says something about you. In response, gaming cafes have begun to establish code of ethics as a way to combat such implications, as well as ensure that their businesses are encouraging a safe space for all gamers. The Vlow Gaming Café has developed a similar code of conduct which supports mutual respect and appropriate internet usage, while prohibiting discrimination and inappropriate behavior by any customer at the café. Each participant is required to read and consent during their registration and any violators face removal and disqualification from all game play or tournament.
